Management Information Committee

Purpose

To aid management in the evaluation of industry trends and business performance through development of special and on-going PMA management information services, and in the education of members on the use of these services.

Scope

  • To evaluate and identify useful opportunities for meaningful PMA management information services.  Assure ongoing relevance of existing surveys.

  • To develop policies, guidelines and formats for workable management information programs.

  • To encourage wide participation by members.

  • To assist Staff in preparation of materials and reports.

  • To educate PMA members in the use and collection data for PMA management information services, appropriate measurement tools, sources of information and business trends.  Analyze results to understand critical success factors in performance.

A quick look at what,

teaching and gathering.

Meeting Information:

Typically meets once a year, usually one face-to-face and two conference calls along with group decisions via Committee discussion group. Conference calls held when necessary

Key Projects

  • Combine the timing of the financial analysis and benchmarking surveys to add more of a financial element to the management, quality and production measurements in the Benchmarking Report.
  • Move appropriate surveys online to provide real-time member input or data and report analysis.
  • Conduct an international supplement with the sales and marketing survey and publish the findings.
  • Examine other management survey instruments and programs.

Past Projects and Accomplishments

  • Recent creation of Sales and Marketing Report and International Supplement.
  • Continuously improving PMA's Business Reports including; Benchmarking; Wage & Benefit; Executive Compensation; Financial Analysis; Capital Spending; Operating Ratios; Orders & Shipments; and Business Conditions.
  • Serve as subject experts for the creation of new surveys.
