What Is Tool & Die?
The Tool & Die Division was established in 1999, to support and enhance the tooling abilities and technologies of the precision metalforming industry in pursuit of world class competitiveness. This group strives to advance technology, networking, education and recruitment by gathering and disseminating to the metalforming industry the best practices in Tool & Die design, build, development and maintenance.

Tool & Die Authority

MetalForming magazine and the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA)have announced a new publication offering subscribers exclusive technical information and timely news for professionals in the tool & die industry. Read the introductory issue.

Tool & Die Authority will be an electronic-only publication delivered to the e-mail inbox of paid subscribers. Among the information delivered each month by an expert panel of columnists:

  • Timely, insightful news of the tool and die industry;
  • Technical advice on transfer and automations systems, tool & die design, deep draw technology, metalforming simulation, problem-solving in the press shop, and related topics such as tooling buyoff and cost reduction strategies;
  • The practical application of forming-limit diagrams and circle-grid analysis; and
  • Expertise in manufacture of progressive and compound dies and four-slide tooling, as well as tips on detail machining, surface grinding and wire EDM, as well as CAM-system development.
