Peter has worked in the metal stamping and tool and die industries for 30 years. His background includes tool and die making, tool engineering, engineering management, advance process planning, and product development. Peter has been speaking at Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) national seminars, roundtables and METALFORM symposiums since 1996, focusing on topics such as transfer and automation systems, tool and die design, deep draw technology, problem solving in the press shop, metalforming technology and computer simulation. He also is a monthly columnist for PMA’s MetalForming magazine’s Tooling By Design column, and an acknowledged contributor to ASM’s Handbook, Metalworking:Sheet Forming; volume 4B (2006).
Designing and Building for High Strength Steels Webinar
Webinar Duration: 60 Minutes
Producing metal stampings from the new advanced high strength steels like the DP (dual phase and TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) requires particular attention to the die design. Recent die process research has proved the effectiveness of several unique processing methods that address problems specific to high strength steels. This presentation provides guidelines for designing and building dies for high strength steel stampings.
